Where Your Waste Goes
When the food waste bin is emptied the food is transported in one of our specialist vehicles to a local Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plant where it is processed to produce a Biogas and Bio fertiliser. Biogas produces renewable electricity whilst nutrient rich bio-fertiliser is spread onto farms local to the AD plant, generating healthy growth and the potential for a higher crop yield. The use of organic fertilisers produced from waste food products is highly beneficial for both the environment and the ecosystems within the adjoining water sources.
Food Waste Bins
Each food bin is lined with a bag that helps keep the food bin clean and hygienic. Collection can be scheduled to meet your requirements weekly or fortnightly.
The food waste bins have a 240 ltr capacity and are designed to fit most spaces. They are similar to the domestic containers we all use at home. Our food waste bins are supplied clean with a clear liner to help contain the waste ready for collection.
